Quilt pattern, Superstition, by Meg Hawkey, from Crabapple Hill Studio. This is a 25 block series Lucky 13 BOM with blocks 1-13 all here in one full set. Twenty-Five very superstitious embroidered blocks in one quilt? YES! This super easy to assemble quilt finishes 61 1/2" square. All general directions for the quilt as well as the stitched blocks and materials list (see below) are in pattern #1 along with the letter A. Each pattern #2-#13 has two letter designs included as well as detailed colored pencil tinting and embroidery directions for each block design.

Quilt measures 61 1/2" x 61 1/2" finished.

Patterns Included:
#1=This pattern contains the quilt assembly instructions, and directions to make the first embroidered block… A - Poison Apple!

#2=A witch's Boot and a very happy skeleton who's name is Zeke! So much fun to color and stitch! I hope you like B and Z (Boot and Zeke… that's the skeleton's name… and he's holding a zinnia, so, doubling up on Z's with that one!).

#3=A very perturbed black Cat and Yarrow from a witch's apothecary garden.

#4=Ooooooo! A vial of Dragon's Blood Elixir is spooky enough, but a big old Spider's web and one of those poisonous X spiders? More than I can stand!!

#5=EEEK! A black widow spider in her shiny, black armour! It's almost more than I can stand! Delthezda Booch's spellbook is a lot less scary… kind of pretty actually… thank goodness!

#6=Every witch needs Fiddlehead Ferns and an adorable Voodoo Doll! Just be careful what you do to the VooDoo Doll (you never know what will come back around to you)!!

#7=We are not even going to ask if you're a bad witch, because we know all stitcher's are good! And must belong to the Salem Witches Quilt Guild Crabby Girls Chapter! Have fun!

#8=There's just something about this hat hanging on the H that does my heart good! And Toadstools? Oh My! Both blocks are super easy to embroider, and so much fun to colored pencil tint!

#9=R is for Raven of course! And I is for Incantations… Eye of newt & wing of bat… fly by the moon with the blackest cat… the winds of change will spiral forth and happiness will be yours. Sounds like a good incantation to me! Easy, easy embroidery on these blocks.

#10=Gives you a very fun Halloween quilt block and a happy Jack O’ Lantern covered with words of Autumn! Quick and Simple Superstitious stitches!

#11=It's time for a lucky Kitchen Witch and a big bottle of Black Cat Wart Potion… after all, who wouldn't LOVE to have more big warts?

#12=Where else will you find Polka Dot oak Leaves and such a fine wise, old Owl? Colored pencil tinting and hand embroidery make it all come true.

#13=It's a witch's Moon tonight, complete with a spooky, little bat and the perfect potion for tonight's cauldron. Want those camera-ready plump lips? Try this Nettle and earwax potion, and POOF!!!!, the lips of your dreams? Colored pencil tinting and oh, so easy embroidery!

2 ½ yards subtly printed stitchery background fabric
2 ½ yards warm white muslin for backing stitcheries
2 yards black for piecing and binding
1 ¼ yard white for piecing and inner border
¾ yard outer border print
4 yards quilt backing
70” x 70” batting
01 or 005 brown Pigma pen
Light box for tracing your embroidery pattern
Freezer paper (for placing under fabric when applying fixative)
Artist’s paper blending stumps
Emery board/nail file
Size 4 round watercolor brush
Jacquard Textile #100 Colorless Extender
Embroidery hoop (I like a 5” thin-sided, spring tension hoop)
#7 embroidery needle
#3 milliner’s needle
Loctite Fun-Tak Mounting Putty (for removing most pencil tinting mistakes before fixative is added)
