Counted Cross Stitch pattern, Ivlie Godefroid. Designed by Simone de Jong-van Wissen of Atelier Soedidee. "Ivlie Godefroid" - or Julie Godefroid in modern spelling - unfortunately did not leave a year or other characteristics on the sampler, making its origin difficult to determine. But the name Julie Godefroid only appears in the Genealogy in Belgium, France, and Luxembourg and given the lack of the J and the U in the alphabet, the sampler will probably be mid-19e century made.
What particularly appealed to Simone are the beautiful colors and the various motifs. The landscape with church, the butterfly, the shepherdess with all her critters, and the more traditional motifs such as the lying deer in the garden, the ship, crib etc.
She used her favorite motifs to make a pincushion, pin drum, needlebook, and pin cube. All charts are included in this pattern booklet as well as a floss holder card. Booklet is in Dutch and English.
Sampler model is stitched 1 over 2 on 40ct Newcastle Oatmeal linen by Zweigart using Soie D'Alger (AVAS) threads.

Finished approx: 12.5" x 11.25".
Pattern booklet includes color photos, black & white stitch charts, **floss color lists (DMC Conversion) (see list below), a floss holder card, templates, and instructions for each design.
